About Me

SANDMANFrom the sands of Egypt to the streets of Orlando. There comes a time when new phenoms hit the scene and take a whole nation by storm. In the wake of 9/11, the first Arab rapper is born. George Shehata a.k.a. “The Sandman” a.k.a. “Question” has something to say and whether you like it or love it, his lyrics command respect. Not a novelty by any means. Sandman is the hottest new artist in the industry today, and has insiders scratching their heads. He is in your face controversial, and most of all a product of his reality. His debut CD “Sand Storm” is set to his stores soon and it’s quickly drawing critical acclaim in the industry.Having been in the U.S. since he was nine months old, the Arab rapper does not have an oil inheritance to fall back on. He lost his father at an early age and his mother does not speak English. Eventually the streets became his family. The Sandman’s success as an artist was not overnight. As a youngster “Question” began honing his skills as a local DJ and promoter in Central Florida with the Heavy Sounds Crew, a prominent group in the early 90’s. After the crew split up Sandman put in more than his fair share of hard work. He promoted concerts for Reggae artist such as Bounty Killer and Beanie Man, as well as other big named artist from Jamaica. He promoted hip hop parties as well with DJ’s such as Kip Capri, Tony Touch, and Doo Wop. He also started throwing parties with Jungle Lion, also another local reggae promoter. The Sandman moved thousands of mix tapes and CDs and created a large fan base.Sandman also had a successful run on an underground radio station in 2000 called 95 Live and it’s with this exposure that he began creating a strong buzz for the records he was creating. With his crew Black Profit, Scar Cease, and Red Dread that has been with him through thick and thin, Brimstone Records was created. To jump start the label Sandman hit the streets with the independent release Sandni**ga (Sandman the Sampler) a 5 track EP. 20,000 units and $100,000 later, Sandman decided to put together a hot new album with the hottest producer in Orlando, K-Lion. The album features the club hit “DJ Play My Song” that instantly grabs you with hard beats and Florida style Quad. For the first single Sandman collaborated with the two of the Dirty South’s hottest artist, multi-platinum selling David Banner and JT Money with “You Don’t Want None”. The single is getting radio airplay all around the southern region and picking up steam in the streets. Just when you think you have his style pinned down, this you Arab brother hits you with “Look into My Eyes” featuring Black Profit. This smooth mid-temp track will make any major label envious of the groove. Then you have the politically deep song with “Mushu” featuring BC the Jagganot which hits on everything from Martha Stewart, Saddam Hussein, President George W. Bush and other political issues. The Album “Sand Storm” is a collection of 15 blazing tracks guaranteed to make you bob your head or get up and dance. Every day the buzz is getting louder and world is taking notice and paying attention. Sandman is here to stay and ready to kick some speakers down in a city near you. The only Question remains is where will this Sand Storm end up next?..
