Known to many as 'the youngest kid on the block' Joe was born Joseph Mulrey McIntyre in December 1972. Joe was the youngest of nine children.Several members of Joe's family were involved in acting and at the age of six Joe got involved in acting as well. Joe's stage debut was singing in "Oliver". He went on to star as Oliver at the age of nine. He also starred in stage productions of "The Music Man" and "Our Town".In 1985 he auditioned for Maurice Starr and was given a place in the group New Kids On The Block. Not only was Joe the baby of the group, he also replaced a long-time friend of the other guys in the group. Initially, Joe was not accepted by the other members, especially Donnie who often called him "Joe-Bird".As a member of New Kids On The Block, Joe was one of the lead vocalist in the group. Joe was the lead vocalist on the New Kids first top ten single in the U.S. ("Please Don't Go Girl"). As one of the lead singers, in the group, Joe had much opportunity to perform solo on stage and thus increase his confidence in performing live.When New Kids On The Block broke up Joe (aged 21) bummed around for a few years while deciding what to do with himself and his earnings. He decided to try his hand at acting and scored a leading role in the film production of "The Fantasticks" (America's longest running play). The outcome of this decision is still to be realised as the film has not been released yet.Joe then decided to pursue a solo singing career. His official website was launched in 1998 and through this he sold 2000 limited edition copies of his debut album, announced four promo tour dates and announced the title of his debut single ("Stay The Same"). With his debut single Joe enjoyed his first U.S. top ten as a solo act. Joe McIntyre was back amongst the living again. How will this chapter of Joe's life end??
