Hello, and welcome to the "Somewhere Close to Nowhere's" MySpace page. We are the band, "Somewhere Close to Nowhere," residing in the middle of nowhere. There are currently 4 members in the band coming from various parts of the country and the world. The band was formed over three years ago with four original members. Only one of the original four remains.
The band started back in the early fall of 2003 when four friends started playing music which they called jam sessions. The four members Jon, Tim, Jonny, and Daniel played for most of the fall together. Jon played guitar, Jonny on the bass guitar, Daniel on the drums, with Tim on guitar as lead vocal. Christmas of 2003 Daniel handed his position of drummer over to the current drummer, David, and left. Shortly after Ryan was brought in to play harmonica.
Things looked bad for the band in the summer of 2004 as Jonny stopped playing, and Jon headed to Florida with his family. The band could survive without a second guitarist, but not without a bass player. With only three members remaining, the band slowed the pace down and and picked up the name "Unannounced." In January of 2005, Jon returned to play with the band once again. There was still the problem of not having a bass player, and so the search began. Aaren was discovered in the fall of 2005, and still remains as the current bass player. At that time the band dropped the name "Unannounced" and picked up their current name "Somewhere Close to Nowhere." In May of 2005, the band said their farewells as Tim left to head for Walla Walla, Washington. Our current line-up features Jon, Aaren, Ryan, and Seth.Among all the changes the band has gone through, it has managed to stay strong and will keep going strong for years to come. If you have never known about "Somewhere Close to Nowhere" until now, we hope you like what you hear. And for those of you who have been faithful fans since the beginning, we thank you. You mean everything to us. Stay tuned...............the best is yet to come.
