About Me

I have often been referred to as "nonchalant". While I am not sure whether that is good, I am not inclined to overthink it. I like getting out to the city to see what's going on, but I also like staying at home and reading. What else can I say? Things are pretty much perfect now. I just got my dream job, working for a nonprofit in Arlington. I have a good place to live, good friends, good life. What else is there?

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !

My Interests

I have lots of these. To go through them all would be something like the theme intro to Captain Kangaroo - but definitely more manly.

Biggies are policy, foreign affairs, current events, genetics, and molecular biology.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with toasted peanut butter sandwiches. Mmmm. If you ever break into my house, just bring those, and this dog will not bark, even while you steal his television.

I am specifically looking to meet more people around the DC Metro area, but if you live outside there and think we might have something to talk about, please shoot me some correspondence. Good conversation is always welcome.

Music:

Rock mostly, but I also like folk, jazz, blues, some country, very little rap. I guess it all depends on the mood.

Movies:

Wow, I'll watch just about anything. I'm partial to drama, action, suspense, movies with a twist at the end, occasional horror, I think you're getting the picture.

Television:

CSI (Vegas), Law and Order, 24, Lost, Dead Like Me, and a couple of others.

Books:

The Tragedy of Great Power Politics, The Extended Phenotype, In the Hand of Dante, Genome: an Autobiography of a Species in 23 Chapters, The Red Queen, The Selfish Gene, Name of the Rose, On War, The Sword and the Shield, Present at the Creation, Clash of Civilizations, Soldier and the State, anything by Dan Brown, policy studies, genetics, politics, literature, Foreign Affairs Journals, Scientific American, Molecular Biology of the Gene, A World Lit only by Fire, The Eyes of Orion, The Structure of Scientific Revolution, Revolution and War, Thinking in Time, Statecraft, 'Man, the State, and War'

blah, blah, blah. . .how about you? I like this part of myspace because it tells about what someone is willing to spend their time on.

Heroes:

My family. They save my arse regularly.
