I guess I have to tell you a little bit about myself huh?
well, here it goes... My name is Monique, I am current Miss Black Oklahoma and Miss Liberia Oklahoma.
I am what you would call a refugee, s I am a survivor of the Liberian civil war. For a pageant queen, I'm actually not much of a girlie-girl. I love sports, I love food, and I love to get dirty (keep your mind out of the gutter). As the youngest of four girls and the "son" my dad always wanted, I'm quite the tom-boy. I'd rather play basketball and change a flat tire than spend time picking out an outfit or painting my nails-But don't get my wrong, the nails stay done and the gear is always impressive!
I became an orphan at age 21, losing both of my parents in less than 5 months;
but that only made me stronger as I had my three beautiful older sisters as my strength and backbone through all of the rough times, I love those women!
So...What's ELSE is going on in the world of "Monique"?Ok, so, I've officially made it! Well, at least for now. Just graduated from college,
yes... COLLEGE,
and I'm ready to take on the world! what's next? EVERYTHING! So I'm taking a year off before law school so that I don't lose my sanity ( or maybe to get my sanity back) Either way, I'm refreshed, and ready to make things happen! Growing up as a Liberian Girl in Oklahoma has always been a challenge, but my uniqueness is what has made me....ME, and I have used that to my advantage, not letting any obstacle stand in my way to success.
