About Me

I'm Beth. A 22 year-old who is convinced that she was born into the wrong era, and wishes with all of her heart that her name was Penelope. I am a part of an overly quirky family, I have a lovely Justin who I have been with for five years and a pure white kitty with a little pink nose, named Peppermint. There are few things I love more than the smell of an old attic filled with antique dresses and treasures, and I prefer silent films to talkies. I hope to someday own a quaint vintage/handmade clothing boutique, and start a life with my pet doctor in a small historic harbor town, where I can sip tea, watch ships and bump into antique stores and estate sales on every street. I enjoy basking in the subtle, yet beautiful things in life. My happiness is most prominent within the walls of dead buildings, and one of my dreams is to set hundreds of multi-colored balloons into the sky of a desolate field. I like to think that the charms of existing don't always revolve around the profoundly life-altering circumstances. I spend my days basking in simple joys; The dark, breathless moment before the first note of a great symphony. The scent of an 8:00am flea market or antique store. Curling up on the couch with an enchanting silent film. Driving barefoot, feeling the rush of summer night air being swept into the car. Reading books on a rowboat in the heat of summer. Waking up to a morning thunderstorm. A reassuring smile from a stranger when I'm having a bad diary day. Sitting in an old diner with my best friend, planning road trips across the country. Experiencing the lights from the city melt into the deep blue arms of the night sky. Watching traffic with a soundtrack. Peacefully observing, while standing in the midst of life's rush. Running through the ground fountains located in the heart of the city. Making special trips to the grocery store, just to savor the scent of the coffee isle. Cloudy nights, and the air that circulates just before a rainstorm. The overwhelming silence that you can actually feel when you dive into deep water. Going to the laundromat in the middle of the night, engaging in philosophical conversation, and falling asleep to the sound of crackling vinyl.
I love to laugh, and am completely aware of my all-around awkwardness. I'm absolutely terrified of large, white windmills, I love admiring very small animals going about their day-to-day activities, and I believe life would be rather boring if I weren't constantly relying on my child-like imagination. Which is somewhat ironic, being that most people who meet me say that I'm quite an old soul.
