Rosetta “Rose†Lynne' can recall singing Tina Turners smash hit, What’s Love Got To Do With It, at the tender age of three. As a child she always showed a desire to be involved with the arts. In 1995 she entered a poetry contest and earned the privilege of having her first poem published in The Young Poets of America. In 1996 she began middle school, and made friends with a classmate, Jade Fuller [whom she presently collaborates with] who also shared her passion for music, they would sing in the stairwells, locker rooms and caught the attention of a teacher who was a professional singer. They began meeting in the early morning with Ms. Gordon and a gym teacher who also played the piano. They would practice show tunes, classic favorites and vocal lessons. Crowds of young and old alike would gather to hear them practice in the morning and a group was formed called the Neptune Nightingales, which consisted of girls who wished to sing outside of the chorus. In 1998 they graduated middle school and received awards for the start of the Nightingales and their excellent performances around the community, in fact thanks to them the Nightingales still exist today.
During high school, Rose was chosen to have another poem published in 2001 with the Live Poets of NJ “Of Faith and Inspiration Vol.2â€. She also studied with the chorus for 2 years and began exploring songwriting. She graduated in 2001 and started college shortly after. In college she encountered aspiring artist and producers and began working with them to gain exposure as a songwriter singer. While studying graphic art and design, She decided to venture into modeling with hopes of getting the attention of urban magazines for more exposure. She has modeled in the 107.5 WBLS Black Bridal Expo 2005, Partyzone.us stock art photography, and has collaborated with Loreal Photographer Steven Krause and makeup artist Jewel Winfield (King Magazine)for her album shoot.
During this journey she has worked with producer/engineer/songwriter Guillermo Edghill Jr. (Jennifer Lopez, Ginuwine, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Amerie, Chris Brown, MIMS ), J-Praize producer of 50 Cents first single Wangsta, Bub da Producer ( Beany Seigel, Jay-z) songwriter Enfluwnze( Monifah and Jazz of Dru Hill),and currently working with Atlanta based producer Fatts (Outkast, Lloyd, Jermaine Dupri).
She states, “ I’ve been using my experiences in life and with the entertainment industry to prepare me for this[being a full time song writer]. I think it’s time to let the world know what I’ve been up to.†I listen and grew up around all genres of music, greats like Whitney Houston, Billie Holiday, Luther Vandross, Sade, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Prince, Aaliyah, Karen Carpenter and so many more. Since I was young I can hear a few seconds of a song intro and recall what it is or if a sample had been put in it, I’ve always had that connection with the music. It’s like as soon as the music begins I can envision a storyline based off the emotional tone of the track, I want people to know that I’m for real, when I write it’s from the heart and I give it all I’ve got. This is what I do and with Gods blessing I don’t plan ..ping anytime soon!
