Rob Bolin,
Born in Detroit, raised in Traverse City, Michigan. Ever since I can remeber I have been a fan of folk music. Growing up with the sounds of: Harry Chapin, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Nick Drake, Allison Krauss and Union Station, and actually, far out of the folk seen. Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. So basically I've been surrounded by great music all my life.
Next, came my 14th Birthday! the day that I owned my first guitar. I could not put it down, and soon enough after watching my brother Steve play, I caught on to it. When I was about 15 years old I started to try and sing. Although I was absolutely terrible, I just kept on pluggin away at it, and when summer-time came I was Street-singing in down town Traverse City with my old pal and lead guitar player Brady Corcoran. Anyway, High school continues and I started getting gigs singing in the schools caffateria, and at local resturants. It was at this time that it dawned on me. "I can make some damn good money doing what I love doing." So I moved to Chicago after one year of college to try out my luck in the city, and so far it's working fairly well! This past year I played in the first annual Acoustic Heroes Festival, the 9th annual Jeff Buckley Tribute show, appearing on Chicago radio station Q101, and many other great achievement in my just started career. I love music, and always will put it out there for people to listen to. And this ladies and gentlemen concludes the "About me" section.
Thank you all for Listening, and supporting me in my journey!
Peace and Love Brothers and Sisters.
You're friend,
-Rob Bolin-
