Nick Fowler is a pretentious ass for talking about himself in the third person. He was born in Nuremberg, Germany, then raised in Ithaca, Tallahassee, La Jolla, London, and New York. He earned degrees in creative writing and music at Cornell University. He's performed his songs on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and has composed music for and acted in The Sopranos. His writing has appeared in GQ, Teen Beat, The Antioch Review, Epiphany, Pulse, Yellow, and The Encyclopedia of Exes. His first novel, A Thing (or Two) About Curtis and Camilla, was published by Random House in June of 2002, received the lead review in that week's New York Times (see below for link), and was called by The LA Times "an irresistibly melodic debut novel that resonates like a perfect pop song." Fowler is at work on his second novel, Your Children Shall Be Kings. He teaches writing at The New School, and performs his music in New York and Riga.
