Danny Berry What is your birthday?

Where were you born?
Yukon, Oklahoma
What is your star sign?
Gemini What type of person were you in school?
I was the only person in my school who was in a band until I got to high school. I didn't run with any crowds in school because I always hung around older people but since I was in a band, everyone pretty much accepted me.
When did you start singing & playing?
I got my first guitar when I was in 3rd grade.
What was your first guitar?
It was a Kay steel string acoustic guitar.
What was the first song that you performed in front of a crowd and where??
Bad Leroy Brown & Grandma's Feather Bed when I was in the forth grade. My music teacher thought it was neat that I could already play and sing so she arranged for me to go around to all of the classes in my school and play two or three songs. That was a really cool part of my life because I could do something that no one else in my school could do.
Why did you pick the instrument that you play?
The guitar really picked me. I went over to my brother in laws grandma's house one time and there was a guitar sitting all alone in the corner and It called out to me to pick it up. I asked me brother in law "Kenny Creger" if I could have it. He put new strings on it and showed me a few chords and a few weeks later I was playing songs.
Did you take lessons or did you learn by ear?
My parents friends had two sons "Larry & Steve" that could play the guitar and they taught me my first few songs. Other than that I have always played by ear.
How old were you when you joined your first band?
I joined my first band in the seventh grade. We played our first show in the school talent show. We played Taken Care of Business and Sweet Home Alabama.
What other bands have you played in?
The Untouchables, Triaxe, High Risk, Lester Finwyck, Sinners & Saints, British Steel and Slowvein.
When did you play your first show?
When I was in the forth grade I played at the Oklahoma Opry, a show that my uncle Jack setup for me. I played with the house band and performed Grandma's Feather Bed and Mama Tried in front of probably 1,000 people.
When was the first time you recorded in a studio?
I think it was in 1985. Triaxe recorded a four song demo in a studio that was ran by a blind man.
How did you meet the other members of Slowvein?
I met Mark and Tommy at the state fair. Their band was performing and I thought they were really good. I started talking to them and went back with them to their party house and joined their band later that night.
What is your favorite Slowvein song and explain your interpretation of the song?
I really like Yellow .. 5. Gary really found a creative way to basically say that the world is going to hell in a hand basket.
What do you think was the best record ever recorded?
The album that served me as the most influential recording was Van Halen One. I simply wore that record out time and time again. I would say that SGT Peppers by the Beatles was probably the most creative album ever recorded. The Wall by Pink Floyd comes in as a close second. As for guitar player records, Steve Vai's Flexibles really blew me away
