You lived for the King vs. Hillsborough and the Blake vs. Middleton games. The only station you listen to is 98.7 and you rode to school every morning listening to O and the Freak Show and you went to Wild Splash and the Last Damn Show. Where the Polar Cup man sold flavors like coconut, pineapple, mango, then on top of that he sold chicken patties after school. Where people judged how hard you were by what middle school you went to, (Greco, Sligh, Van Buren, Franklin, Young) and after school you went straight to the park (Fair Oaks, Nuccio, McFarland, Main Street, 18th Street). You know all about Krunk Parties @ the Armory, and all major events happened @ the Marshall Center. You started cursing in the 7th grade and you lived for the MLK Parade and afterwards the fights that always ended it. You wear Timbs in the summertime and flip flops in the winter, and you have some piece of jewelry with your name in it from Shalimar. You can tell the difference between a Rican, Cuban, and a Mexican by the flags in their car windows. And you know thatif someone has good hair they must be 'mixed'. Your best friend got a baby or at least two baby mommas [sometimes three lol!] and you'll fight harder for your play-play cousin than you would for your real cousin, hell damn near everyone in 813 is cousins' through a couple of people. You've got a friend at every single high school and everybody has a car or at least unlimited access to one because everybody stays way too damn far and its too damn hot to be trying to walk anywhere. You know only homeless people, crackheads, females with a bunch of kids, and broke USF students ride Hartline. When you stop at a red light your car shakes from the bass of a car 4 cars back. You know too many people with at least 4 golds in their mouth, or you know too many people in the area period. You or somebody you know worked at Busch Gardens or Adventure Island for at least a summer. You spent every Memorial Day @ Adventure Island and could'nt wait until you were 18 so you could go to Wet-N-Wild. You know what Gyros and Big Johns is and theres a Coles on every corner. You know one crazy person that always rides their bike everywhere and every corner store sells white and black tees. You know that once you go by your friends' Auntie house, you don't need that friend anymore to keep going over there for every Bar-B-Que and Sunday dinner. Before you came to college you thought everybody drank Zephyrhills and you know that your senior year between pics and announcements Herff Jones took all your damn money. You went to Grad Nite or Grad Bash and you know what Gasparilla and Guavaween is. You know that Fuel is poppin on Thursday, 112 on Friday, Undaground on Saturday, Manilla on Sunday And Monday, and "Broke-Ass Wednesdays at Apollo". People can identify you by your bullet wounds...[for example everyone knows Garfield that got shot in the ass.] Niggas from Atlanta stay yelling Tampa is lame but they ass still here and still be jukin' in our clubs. You only know one nigga with a low cut because everybody has dreads or twists and you get your hair braided for the summer because you know yo perm won't last. The only area code you know is 813 and the farthest you went was 727. You was up on I'm Sprung back in February and either Tom G., Krazy, Tampa Tony, or Rated R. is one of your homeboys' cousin.
