Carving Scars
Carving Scars are René Padberg, Sebastian Sturm, Henning Claussen, Daniel Harnack and Lukas Gross. The Carving Scars started their musical Career in 2004,founded by Lukas (Bass), Daniel(Drums) and Sebastian(Guitar) (back then under the name of "T.B.A."), and later joined by René as a singer.
After several concerts in their small hometown of Luedinghausen(Germany), and in the surrounding area, the guys decided to take Henning(guitar) into the band to further their sound with new musical influences and possibilities.
After changing their name to "Josh in the Basement" they played an Unplugged-gig and several shows with predominantly acoustic songs (due to their set still consisting of mostly acoustic songs written for the Unplugged gig), until the band went for another name change to "Carving Scars" in the Summer of 2005. At that time they also had enough songs ready to play a completely Electrical Set, and decided to scrap the acoustic songs (but maybe they'll whip them out again at another Unplugged gig).
From then on the Scars did a lot of touring (for example in Muenster,Bergkamen,Cologne,Dortmund) and recorded their first 4-song EP at Werner Wiese Studios in Werne. Since early 2006 they started working together with Top Five Records (www.topfiverecords.de),continued touring and supported several good and famous bands such as DAYS IN GRIEF, TRIBUTE TO NOTHING, CLOSEDOWN, CLAUS GRABKE and THE HEARTBREAK MOTEL.
In September 2006 the guys recorded a new demo CD at the famous Luna Studios in their hometown Luedinghausen.
