About Me

..

Intern..... based in Essex this four piece rock band have a sound and stage presence unique to themselves making them not only audibly desirable but visually also. Their shows have made the heaviest metallers smile and the teeniest boppers mosh (We have the photos to prove it!!!!). The band has seen many changes over the years be it in style of music or band members but has now settled in its current formation and has gelled like a family both on stage and off. If this is the first time you've heard about Intern, it wont be the last. If you haven't seen Intern yet, you soon will.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: internworld.co.uk
Band Members:
Intern's frontman is Justin Cartledge, who previously fronted bands such as Century Vision, Persona and Moneypenny. As part of Intern, this singer-songwriter has never looked or sounded better. Intern's songs are full of melody and powerful music, and Justin's vocal style and range adds to this band a new dimension that is so often lacking in other groups.

Mark Saunders is the man on the drums. Playing like Keith Moon on speed, (a huge compliment), Mark knows when to play standard beats and stand out beats. Having been in KC2 and Shot Lewis, Mark is a band's drummer, a rock, the heart of the band where no matter what happens or what anyone else does Mark will always be there, beating in perfect time.

Paul Sowden is Intern's guitarist. Having played in Copious and Harbinger he has mastered his craft. With Intern, he plays rhythm and lead guitars, generating an energy and vibrancy in the music that complements the vocals and percussion. Promoters, media and studio engineers have complimented his intricate guitar work.

Finally on bass, we have Matt Hogg. A seasoned bass player, Matt has played in local bands such as The Club and Moneypenny, as well as providing session tracks for other local musicians. A musician that provides rootsy yet melodic bass lines while trying his best to blow every circuit in his amp!
Influences: Our musical influences are mostly Indie acts. Such as Oasis, the Beatles, Muse, Foo Fighters etc. As a band we try and combine all our influence together to reach a sound, unique to us. John Lennon, Oliver Reed, Keith Moon, Noel Gallagher... all legends.
Sounds Like: FLEECE FESTIVAL - CHELMSFORD INTERN PLAY SUNDAY 18th NOVEMBER @ 6-7pm PLEASE READ!!In aid of the Kids of Kurland .... a South African Township. It has a population of around 4,500 people, with a 45% unemployment rate. The incidence of HIV/AIDS is about 35%. The local preschool, or “crèche”, was built to cater to fifty children. It currently enrolls around ninety kids with only two permanent staff members. The lack of cultural, sport and recreational facilities in Kurland also results in the youth being caught up in such problems as crime, alcohol and drug abuse, under consensual-age sex, pregnancy and single parenthood. Someone we know worked out there last year and the children in that village changed her life, and we want to do something to help change theirs. SO PLEASE COME ALONG AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!! FLEECEFEST, SLOT TIME, PRICE ETC STILL TO BE CONFIRMED. WILL UPDATE INFORMATION AS SOON AS WE HAVE IT.
