About Me

We are a truly democratic band, devoid of ego, unshackled to trend or style with no chief songwriter, no dominant personality, no unilateral decisions. Only solidarity and truth.
Some pub for Red City Radio:
Maximum Rock N Roll Issue 290 July 2007
This short six-song split CD represents both these Oklahoma bands well. RED CITY RADIO is a poppy yet melancholic mixture that sounds at times like AMERICAN STEEL or OFF WITH THEIR HEADS. The lyrics are smart, passionate, and political with-out the expected heavy-handedness. STREETS OF THIEVES manages a sound that straddles metal-influenced hardcore(a la early CAVE IN) and anthemic/melodic punk. That would normally make for an unfocused kind of mess, but here they pull it off. Nice.

The Reader (Omaha):
Part Hot Water Music, part Smoking Popes and part American Steel, Red City Radio is a regular punk rock cornucopia. And while comparable to other acts, these Oklahoma boys still manage to throw together a nonpareil song or two. Propelled by spasmodic bass drum hits and brazen, palm-muted chord progressions, tracks like “Unburdened” don’t necessarily subvert the punk rock formula, but rather pay homage to it with incredible success.
“Raising the Bar” demonstrates Red City Radio’s knack for writing genuinely angst-ridden lyrics and belting them out with fervor, which seems to be the band’s strongest suit. With three of the four members of the band lending their chops, there never seems to be a lull in vocal dynamic. The lyrics are delivered in rather simple melodies, weaved through a network of “whoa-whoa’s” making them sing-a-long ready and contagious, but not so catchy that they run the risk of falling into pop-rock predictability. These are the type of songs that will make your throat sore by the end of the album.
