As New Times states "Jawa could give a crap about mainstream success." This statement rings true till today. Jawa or Jason Randolph has been involved in the music scene since he was a little boy starting in a group called Boys in Action. He would preform at half time at the Sun's games and even opened up for TLC when he was 13. Aside from making music Jawa has always loved teaching, he would teach on the side at an after school program called Do Re Mi School of the arts teaching young kids Hip Hop dance, culture and basic morals from about the age of 16-22.
As Jawa grew up he knew that he wanted to stay involved in the music scene and formed an unstoppable hip hop crew in the 90's full of Arizona's most talented MC's including; Octatoung from EOTS crew, Nanotek from AlphaBionics, Many Pieces from Anecdote and Smoke from The Empire of the Sun Crew to form the Ascended Masters. This Hip Hop group played part in planting the roots in Arizona's now flourishing underground scene.
Playing show's every week and having huge success in Arizona, Jawa finally decided to make the move to L.A. to futher progress his career and to try his luck out there. Within months of moving the California Jawa got signed to Ice Cube's label Priority Records. At Priority Jawa accomplished many things including recording tracks with Royce Da 5'9, Brian McKnight and many other well known mainstream acts as well as personally growing to an untouchable level or so it seemed..
One day Jawa had an offer to move into a close friends house for free, so he packed up his car with all his equipment, clothes and everything he owned and took off. When he pulled up he went to get his friends to help him unload and a cup of water his car was stolen with everything he owned inside. Jawa took this as a sign and moved back to Arizona. Jawa's career continued to progress as he met up with his old crew member Nanotek and created the Skwids. This dynamic duo took the underground by storm with there release and were able to land openings for such acts as Busta Rhymes, 50 cent, MF DOOM, KRS ONE, Jeru The Damaja and many many more.
After a year break, Jawa moved on to strictly producing different projects for many well known artists albums but didn't want that to be the final chapter in his music career. Jawa is back with vengeance with his new mash up project with AlphaBionics producer M.I.T. called The 12th Planet. This is the first in a series of hour plus long mega mash ups hitting every genre and personality. I have personally had the privilege of getting a pre-released copy and I can tell you that my ears have not heard silence since I received it. I go to bed with my headphones on and set my CD player to loop with this playing. Needless to say this album will be sure to appeal to the mass's and will keep our eyes focused on Jawa in the future waiting in anticipation for another eclectic masterpiece.
Jawa has 12698 friends.
