About Me

An amazing thing has happened recently, I've begun to free myself from longstanding self-imposed constraints and have finally begun to see what I am, what I want, and how to get it. No longer am I a passenger on this ride that is my life, I'm getting behind the wheel. I try not to get fixed on results but what I've seen and experienced has been remarkable. By ignoring that nagging naysayer I've experience more in the last few months than the previous few years. It's a terrifying feeling removing the insulation I use to protect myself but incredibly liberating. I'm ready to make mistakes, to be open to new things, to not always be right, to admit defeat when defeated, to listen to what you have to say, and to grow by exposing myself to real life. By no means do I have all the answers, ever answer seems to bring up more new questions, but I think I'm on to something. The only thing limiting what I can do is myself and rather than fight it why not embrace it. I don't know nor do I care where the ride will take me but I'm excited to find out.
I still love stand up bass, fedora hats, the Cubs, walks in the snow and most importantly all the wonderful people in my life.

Snow

Its common knowledge that every kid in the universe loves snow; you can go sledding, build forts out of it, and best of all school gets cancelled. Now that I'm a pseudo-adult I hear a lot of people sa...

Opening Day and all its glory

I love opening day of the baseball season, a time when hope springs eternal (particularly on the north side of Chicago), every team has a chance, and the Pirates aren't 12 games out of first yet....
