About Me

..
www.myspacetags.comOn Monday, October 17th, 1983 at 4:32 pm in Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center (Waco, Texas) Julius Lanogwa Saziru (RIP) and Reva Dorothy Brown welcomed Jamen (Jah-min) Lanogwa Saziru into the world. The six pound baby grew up to be a very quiet, soft spoken individual. School, writing, reading books, and acting consumed all of Jamen's life as a young child. Music was a very distant thought.Jamen was not really introduced to hip hop until middle school. His initial influences were Bone Thugs N Harmony (The Art of War), Busta Rhymes (When Disaster Strikes), and the Hot Boys (Guerilla Warfare). R and B influences were Boys II Men and Montel Jordan.Hip hop was introduced, school, and at this time, track and field were top priorities in Jamen's life. He came out of Waco High School being ranked 2 in the nation in the 200 meter dash behind Olympic Gold Medalist Jeremy Wariner. Jamen accepted an attracted full track scholarship to Baylor University where he became an All-American and an NCAA Champion. He also set a NCAA record with the 4x400 relay. While in college, Jamen began producing instrumentals for fun with a friend. As a result, a mutual friend suggested that Jamen should be featured on a couple of his tracks. Jamen initially laughed at the idea since he believed rapping was not for him in any way. He ended up recording the verses....AND LOVED IT.From there, Jamen began using his strong writing skills to write lyrics. In the beginning, music was nothing serious until people heard his music and truly loved it. Jamen finally realized he could take his music to a whole new level. He changed his image, name, and became himself....Just JamenJamen's music is created to be seen. Yes seen. He paints pictures with his tracks. His 1st album, "Looking @ Art," is appropriately titled. Call it a museum and each track is an exhibit. Jamen's music is very unique and innovative. It is a breath of fresh air to music as a whole.
