I am the founding member of Plastic Jesus. It is a extreme music project that that is based around what I feel most metal today has lost...RHYTHEM and GROOVE.The songs are incredibly complex- not in terms of a million chromatic guitar notes per second or some sloppy blast beat which is floating between note values. Songs are based around the following principals: ..very odd meters.... lots of them. ..odd permutations of traditional drum rudiments played around the kit.. ..very fast CLEAN and CONSISTANT tempos... ..polymetrics occuring "between" guitars and drums.. ..polyrhythems played "on drums" against the guitars..I am playing all drums and percussion. I am recording all instruments in my studio. I am also writing all rhythem guitar for now. ..stay tuned.. I write out all my music first. 95% of all the material is written out and then arranged into songs. The pathetic time honored tradition of "jamming with a band" to come up with a song is a waste of time.. especially for the style of music I am currently writing for the project. All the music must be written then rehearsed individually. Then performed as a unit. To see if the music actually grooves.
