After launching their Not Fucking Right / Goodnight EP in September 2007, they embarked on a USA tour that included supports for Magik Markers, Wooden Shjips, Psychedelic Horseshit, My Disco and many others. Tragically after ten shows the tour came to an abrupt end when guitarist Hayden Sweeney and photographer Bridget O'Brien were killed as their tour van crashed on the way from Detroit to New York City.
In the six months that followed guitarist / singer Michael Beach recorded a solo album, bassist Adam Camilleri escaped to Berlin for recovery, and drummer Patrick Lias worked on a unique art project – all finally making the decision to continue as a three-piece.
After a successful return show with friends The Stabs and KES at the Tote in Melbourne, they returned to the USA as a three-piece on the back of a release on the Thurston Moore / Byron Coley collaborative label ECSTATIC YOD, performing 27 shows around the country.
Here's what DJ Rick from KDVS Sacramento says:
"Just got back from the Electric Jellyfish show......
That band was hands-down, the best band I've seen all year. I'm no kinda spiritual person, but the way I felt about seeing them play must be like going to church and figuring out what it's all about."
