About Me

I spend a lot of time focusing on the future. I want to make a difference. I want to be successful, of course, but my whole life I can remember thinking about what needs to change, how things SHOULD be, I don't think it's naive to believe we have an impact. It is not just the big things you do that make a difference it's the little things, and it really adds to your life if you fill it with experiences. I try to see things with appreciation. To focus on the good rather than the bad. I think we all should... I couldn't imagine not wanting to travel the world, not wanting to see everything, feel everything. It's a beautiful place we live in, even if there are painful, hard truths. While, I'm a bit of an idealist and maybe a bit naive and I talk about seeing the good, I still think it's important to focus on those things that need change. I want to write about those things. To make the world take notice but I want to do it in a way that still allows people to see the beauty there... RIGHT NOW: I am involved in the most amazing organization. Invisible Children, where I live and work full time for them in San Diego California. I've learned and done so much with them and have never felt more fulfuilled. Before this I volunteered once a week at OU children's hospital and it has been one of the greatest things I've done with my life. The kids I've met there are amazing. They make me stronger....I moved to L.A. in Nov. of 2006 and my mom passed away suddenly so I went back to Oklahoma for most of 2007. Then in August, Dan Eldon's story led me to Invisible Children and it's been incredible! THE FUTURE: I want to work in developing countries and help put an end to starvation and health issues. Esp. in children. I want to improve education standards for those amazing kids that have the full capacity to become the leaders of thier countries but just don't have the resources. I also love animals more than anything else in this world, maybe I feel like they need me most. They never let me down and so I also want my life to be spent working to protect them and care for them... I want my writing to work for me but I also just love it, plain and simple, and so I could see myself *hopefully* screen writing and song writing someday. Entertainment, and escape are important and movies and music are amazing sources of talent and beauty, so if you know me, you know I'm near obsessed lol. I love photography and road trips and I grew up riding horses and have never known another freedom quite like it. I love to read and shop (not clothes really, but things, lots of STUFF that I really don't need) I'm practically a pack rat and save everything. I'm quirky and silly. I laugh a lot, especially when I'm shy or nervous. I'm sensitive and brave..... I have a twin sister and she's my best friend. I've never been alone and you would think that would make me a dependent and needy person but it has done just the opposite, I'm very independent and adventurous. I love my friends, and my family and esp. my animals (my horses, dogs and cats) I know what I want in life, but I'm not close to figuring everything out, I want there to be surprises and most of all I want there to be fulfillment....~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."
Jack Kerouac
