BIOGRAPHY
Havoc ( Ruffskool ) is Jim Van Loo, lives near Antwerp, Belgium and catched up with electronic music since ’95. Back in the days his focus was on tunes with dark, deep and growling basslines overwhelmed with banging snaredrums. Not much a fan of the soft and silky tunes he continued exploring and seeking the more experimental breakbeat tunes out there. Old school jungle became more and more interesting by lack of new releases in the line of his favorite drum & bass styles typing this ‘96-‘98 period. Besides the interest in jungle and drum & bass he continued exploring different genres which have often the same spirit and feeling so you will find a wide range of experimental breakbeats and percussion in his crates.
RUFFSKOOL
Nowadays he's still an addicted record collector. Spins strictly old school jungle, breakbeats and hardcore or rave/jungletechno whatever you want to call it. Together with his partner in crime and best friend Toon Severijns aka Karbonkid they came out of the Bambu crew,Antwerp (UNTITLED!) They set up the concept “Ruffskool” at the end of 2007 to promote the music from back in the days – the UK 1990-1995 dance music era. They also spin back2back sessions, bringing back amen mash ups, breakneck beats and rave sounds so keep an eye out to catch them somewhere in Belgium. 5th event under the moniker Ruffskool will be in March, Antwerp with jungle/rave pioneers NOOKIE (Reinforced Records, Moving Shadow-UK) and DJ TRAX (regular guest DJ from the UK).
PROJECTS
Besides the Foundation project he’s also experimenting with Cortechs Valley (Belgium). With this musical genius he performs as Loseq(Cortechs Valley) and Mistabron (Havoc). Combining live music (Cortechs Valley) with turntables only serving pure soundscapes, dark broken beats, breaks and experimental stuff. They perform at different venues and parties going from vernisages, art exhibitions for some chill out background music to noise/breakcore parties… Check more right here Loseq & Mistabron
Havoc is part of The Massive Central: The Massive Central is a dj and vj collective from the wider Brussels region called Belgium. The steel wheel riders from the apocalypse bring you a wide variety of fresh tunes from the underground hiphop laboratory, broken beats straight from the musical scrapyards outskirting the city and audioglitches from the cores of the urban towers. The knobtwiddling video geeks spice it all up with a blend of subpixel bombings, graphic displays of vulgar entertainment and mindtwisting sets of brainaided design. But, seriously, The Massive Central is all about having a night of straightforward fun with some of the secrets the capital has been breeding these last few years: dj's that aim for the legs through the ears, vj's that aim for a smile throught the eyes.

Havoc used to sing for 13 years in one of the biggest Belgian old school Hardcore bands called Victims Of Society . He grew up with rock & roll music an later on at the age of 13-14 he got into punk/metal and hardcore. Nowadays he's still in touch with the music he grew up with and puts the needle on the groove as JIMBO JONES . He spins back to back sessions with his good friend Captain Crack , serving pure rock & roll classics, surf and rockabilly from the fifties and sixties.
