TruthCity, born Ronald Evans was born November 22 Thanksgiving Day in West Palm Beach, FL in 1990. His mother, a single parent, raised Ronald to be the best at whatever it is that he did. Fearing for the life of her and her child, Ronald's mother moved to Tallahassee, FL to escape the trouble that her husband had caused for them. Ronald to this day doesn't know who his father was or is. At 4, Ronald wrote his first poem and at 6 he began writing lyrics, influenced by rapper Jay-Z's Dead Presidents.
Ronald recieved half of his alias from his mother who called him Truth, stating that he was very cunning at lying but when it came to writing lyrics he always told the truth. This came from a incident where Ronald had got in to trouble outside his neighborhood of Patrick Henry Ave which was known for being a rough area. Ronald had gotten bullied by a few kids who were playing football and kicked out of the area. Ronald who had lied to his mother about what happened wrote a song about it which was found by his mother.
The other half of his name came from a muslim philosophy that the mind was like a City. In August of 2005 Ronald's mother had a baby who would turn out to be Ronald's new motivation to lead a positive example in his music. Ronald vowed to never use excessive cursing in his rhymes and promote the degration of women. Shortly after Ronald's mother was stationed to Korea because of the Armed Forces and Ronald was faced with one of the toughest things in his life....being away from the only person he ever had. Gone for a yr, she returned the next year only after leaving the following wk of her return and taking his little sister with her.
Now with out his mother and little sister Ronald stays even more to himself and becomes even more distant from his father. Writing even more than ever now and working with super producers The Inkredibles, Ronald began to over work taking a toll on his mental and physical health.
July, 3rd 2008 Ronald's friend was shot and killed in the streets of Hampton which made Ronald appreciate his life and his purpose as an artist. Ronald was reunited with his little sister Aug 17th, 2008. Though his mother was still away Ronald tried to remain strong and pursue his dream of becoming the greatest artist of his generation.
Ronald's mother decided to re-enlist in the military for 4 more yrs in order to be reunited with her only son. She returned Jan.6th, 2009. She will have returned to her son after nearly 3yrs. Ronald constantly wrote and wrote his second album, although he had never put out the first which includes 21 songs that have never been heard and probably won't be till the new yr. Ronald at this time hadn't put out recorded music since his first appearance on 106&Park. He claimd he had switched his style since then and wanted to bring in the new yr with new music, new looks as well as style. He can now be seen sporting louis vutton shoes, sweater vest, blazers and scarves. Only time will tell when his new music is released in the upcoming year
Ronald has went on to win BET's 2nd Annual Blaze the Stage making a statement saying to a sold out crowd, "You don't have to walk it out to get a record deal...not on my watch", receiving a standing ovation and 7 perfect score sheets from judges Chrisette Michelle, Fat Joe, Cassidy, Keyshia Cole, Juelz Santana and Supa-producers Armadeus & Donovan Knowles. Winning first place for Hip-Hop in the competition Ronald went on to win 106&Park's Wild Out Wed alongside best friend and up-and-coming R&B singer Alisa. Their lost to some would hurt the confidence and perserverence but Ronald quotes after the show, "I'm glad i lost, i win too much. Loosing teaches you how to win. If i loose once, i win twice. The next win will be bigger than this one could have ever been."
