Bus Nine

About Me

Bus Nine is, and always has been, an evolving band. From it's beginnings as a charity raising effort in Britton, SD to the transition to Marshall, MN to their now 4th studio recording, "The Road To Redemption", one thing thing has remained constant: No matter what, keep moving forward.
During the Winter of '05, the band felt it was time to make a new record. They were just coming off the release of their succesful EP "Extended Play" that took them to headlining slots at premier venues (Fine Line Music Cafe, Ogaras, etc), Landed them shows at major festivals (Moondance Jam, Taste of Minnesota, Bash in the Grass), and put them on the stage with legends such as Jefferson Airplane, Kansas, The Bangles, and Survivor. Quite an honor, but all in a days work as the band members have played with big dogs like Soul Asylum, Better Than Ezra, Blues Traveler, Martin Zellar, and REO in the past. Not to mention a series of shows at every place you can think of from Minnesota to the Western Gateway. And with a handful of stations spinning the EP, life was good.
But times were changing. The member's families were growing in size and free time was disappearing. So in the Fall of '06, Bus Nine called it quits on hitting the road for a while to focus solely on making a new album. First rehearsals, then demos, then long trips to Minneapolis for marathon studio sessions, and then finally mixing and mastering. As time went by it started to become clear that not only was the new album going to be different, but it was going to be great as well.
The Road To Repemption was released on July, 20th 2007. Since then, Bus Nine has been playing all over their native Minnesota. In late 2008, Chris Haase had to relocate due to his occupation and Bus Nine is again changing. Recently, they have started working with Emily Weidauer and plan to move forward with the new lineup.Keep checking this page as news and new shows are posted often.
