About Me

..Where do I begin? I could start at childhood, but that seems a bit Freudian. Ahh, I'll just say I'm originally from Texas, but I've lived in LA for years now, and I love it! Film is where it's at, baby, and I'm on it like a dog on a bone. Wait... no, that's right.
I enjoy being at the center of attention 55% of the time. The other 45% I like to fade into the walls. I love music and wish I could play an instrument. I love languages and I'm a stickler for grammar. I like to come up with new meanings for words like, 'Hey, that camera's pretty marcy.' 'Yeah, thanks man. My last one was pants.' I like to ask questions to songs and have them answer me like, 'Where did you build this city?' 'We built this city on rock and roll.'
I'm known in certain circles for my interpretive dances. I'm a germaphobic slob. I love salads but hate lettuce. I'm loyal to a fault. My sardonic wit gets me into trouble. I love the sound a fruit roll-up makes when you peel the plastic off. I don't like it when people refer to their feet as "dogs". My disdain for the misuse of the word "literally" is unmatched. I have a penchant for Moon Pies. :o)

My Interests

I'm only interested in the Dewey Decimal System, chlorophyll, and suede.

I'd like to meet:

Myself 20 years ago. Come on... you gotta admit. That would be FREAKY cool.

Music:

Currently in rotation on Gavin's Real Rhapsody player... Guster, Peter Bjorn & John, Fischerspooner, LCD Soundsystem. I'll listen to anything but country. I know that's cliché, but it's true. I try to be open-minded, but I have my limits. I've been a loyal fan of They Might Be Giants since 1988, though they come and go from my radar since they're not always active. But they have the best live shows.

Movies:

I have an eclectic taste in movies. Some of my favorites are The Matrix (only the first one), Clueless, Singing in the Rain, and Fight Club. I don't like a lot of movies a lot of people think that I "should as a filmmaker," or whatever that means. I won't list said movies here, in order to protect myself from militant studio marketing departments. I do, however, like stupid comedies like Anchorman, Zoolander, Dodgeball, Austin Powers, and the like. I also like spy movies like James Bond and the Bourne series. Good times. Serious dramas are a stretch for me, but they're good for a laugh once in a while. But I'd rather MAKE a movie than WATCH one any day.

Television:

If you watch The Adventures of Pete and Pete or Strangers with Candy, you will get me. And by "get" I mean "to understand," not "to acquire." I don't have a ton of time to watch TV, though I love it, so if I didn't have TiVo I might as well be dead. I like Lost, and I've been doing a better job recently about watching it consistently. I deserve props for that. Desperate Housewives is fetch. South Park literally rocks my world. Literally. And yes, I understand the definition of the word.

My Blog

Check out this music video I produced!

Here is a music video from singer/songwriter Esther Canata that I produced with Michael Costner who also directed. We shot it in one day at the Tokio bar in Hollywood. Enjoy!Click here to watch!...

The 24th grade

So, I just realized something horrible.  I'm in the 24th grade.  If we didn't stop counting what grade in school we're in after 12th, I'd be in the 24th grade. Do you know what that mea...

Coke at 3am

There really is nothing quite like some high-quality Coke at 3am.  And I mean Coca-Cola.  Seriously.  Try it sometime.  Next time you happen to wake up in the middle of the night, ...
