My name is Philip.This year I lived and worked on the beach in Guam. I spent lots of time in Tokyo...Next year I have to make it all up again...I like to write music for the people in my life...I have worked with: Ric Hordinski (my Sensei), Steve Tibbetts and Choying Drolma, Bobby McFerrin, Morton Subotnik, Dave Holland, Dave Brubeck, the Uri Caine Trio, Dominic Frasca.

Levin Classical Guitar, (year unknown, but my uncle travelled around the world with it in the 60's. rumoured to have been played by Leonard Cohen while my uncle lived with him in Greece. Ibanez 6-string bass.Alesis Photon X25. brand spanking new midi controller.Boss DD5 delay pedal. Boss DS1 distortion. Roland FV1 volume pedal. Gitar Slam munging pedal, custom built by Patrick Richardson. Audio Technica AT8511 Active Direct BoxBehringer Patch Bay Behringer Composer Dual Channel Compressor (original) Electrix Repeater Digitech DSP256 DOD d12 Vestafire Reverb (a random find for $30 in nashville. lush reverb, but it grinds like an old engine on the inside.) Akai S1000 samplerKeil Tube Amp. (early 70's. canadian.)D'Addario 10 gauge strings, except the Washburn has 11 gauge half rounds.
Influences: satomi, claire, blaise, ethan... books, movies, people, the outdoors. nine horses, ralph towner, david sylvian, jeordie white!, michael brook, brian eno, david torn, squarepusher, sam cooke, hildegard von bingen, bach, ric hordinski, s. pellegrino. been listening to a lot of sigur ros, tv on the radio and nine inch nails lately.
Sounds Like: arthur koestler, ken wilber, annie dillard, carl jung, isaac asimov, frank herbert, haruki murakami, a south african who grew up in america.
