I'm walking this path one step at a time.
Walking, running, stopping to rest.
I'll sometimes stop and take a look at the past, how far I've gone, what I've gone through, places I've been, people I've met.
I'll look at where I am, what's around me, gratify the fact that I'm able to be where I am, and with who I am with.
Sometimes I get lost on this path, just like many before me. But no matter how deep and dark in the woods I get, looking closely, there are still specks of light on the ground, shining my way back to my path again.
Sometimes, I'll take shortcuts, to cut ahead of life. But looking back, I do realize how much I have missed out if I had just stayed on path. The sights I would've seen. The people I could've met, been closer to.
I'll look to the road ahead of me. As far as the eye can see, as far as the road reaches the horizon in sight. Some things in the distance I can make out, others I'll have to travel closer to notice.
Past the horizon, past the bends in the road, I can only imagine and dream about what lies ahead. Mountains to climb, dips and falls to recover from. New paths that cross mine. Old ones that part. The company still around me.
This is my road of life. Walk with me. Run with me. Rest with me. Chill with me. Fight with me. Play with me. Study with me. Pray with me. Feel free to leave your footsteps on this path, and I can only hope and pray that I have somehow done the same for you.
