Venefica was formed in Prokuplje, Serbia, on 14th of April 2005 by composer and multi-instrumentalist Marko Sinadinović after his departure from several local black/gothic/doom metal bands. Venefica have gathered under her black wings various musicians in the course of her artistic existence: violin player Laura Balović (2006-2007), keyboard player Draginja Tubić (2006-2007), acoustic guitar player Aleksandar Dragicević (2005-2007), the sopranos Jasmina Perić (2005-2006) and Maša Grubešević (2007-2008). From the band's beginnings Venefica never had a stabile lineup and in 2008 Marko finally decided to care about his only child Venefica all alone. The departure of Maša Grubešević from Venefica lineup and Marko's life caused a lot of pain and massive difficulties in producing and creating Venefica songs because songs were modified several times and all arranged vocal lines had to be removed. From that point, Venefica songs remained piano instrumentals and with help of Amelia Klisinski (2008-present) on acoustic guitar as a permanent support formed their final shape.
In her artistic expression Venefica combines vast influences from classical, gothic, doom and darkwave music as a band's foundation but experiments with exotic themes from Japanese anime movies as an unheard song lyric. Marko's personal theme of oppressive darkness and solitude pushes the limits of musical density, suffocating atmospheres and raw violence to a point of creative process and anyone can feel trough listening Venefica songs that honesty.
