About Me
I am an Audio Engineer. I work for a band called The Avett Brothers.
How I got where I am? I graduated from an audio school. After that I started looking for jobs and showed up the right day at the right time at a place in Dahlonega North Georgia. A man named Bob Buisson bought a pair of buildings (one being an old church) and turned them into an all out arts center for the community. A brand new sound system was put in the church which is where I fell in, at the right place at the right time. I showed up and was offered a job. At this job I was in control of the system and mixxed for people including Darrell Scott, Hal Ketchum, Rodney Crowell, Suzy Bogus, The Avett Brothers, etc. I also got experience calling managers, booking agents, cleaning bathrooms, cutting grass, and I even put on a blues festival. The Avett Brothers were my first show and after I saw them once I knew I wanted to work for them. I followed them every free weekend I had, helping if I could and giving them my card at every show. After about a year they offered me a chance to run their sound for a month and a half tour starting in January of 06. There were 40 shows in about 45 days. I took this and have not looked back. I work for the greatest people in the world. Not only are they the best musicians and entertainers I have ever seen, they are also the most honest, hardest working, talented people I have ever met and I am very proud to say they are my friends. This goes to everyone in the corporation. Since being with the brothers I have mixed in rooms including Bowery Ballroom (NYC), Orangepeel (Asheville NC), Georgia Theatre (Athens Ga), Variety Playhouse (Atlanta Ga),
Crystal Ballroom (Portland Or), Slims (San Francisco), etc and all these were sold out shows. Festivals I have mixxed include Bonaroo, Merlefest, Philly Folk Festival, Smilefest, Pickathon, Coachella, etc.
I thank and owe everything I have right now to my Parents.
