TV intoxicates me. I'm hooked on 'Grey's Anatomy' right now; I watched Season 1 on DVD, and then I got a bootlegged Season 2 off of eBay or something. Speaking of computers, I'm being entranced by weird homemade shows that you download; Yacht Rock is incredible, and I saw a video of two Asian boys lip-synching to a Backstreet Boys tune, that was one of the greatest performances I've ever seen.
'The Botany Of Desire' is the latest. Lorrie Moore, Raymond Carver, Zora Neale Hurston... Reading is gorgeous..."To find your own way is to follow your own bliss. This involves analysis, watching yourself and seeing where the real deep bliss is -- not the quick little excitement, but the real, deep, life-filling bliss. My way has been the way of bliss in reading. I will not finish a book that bores me, no matter how important it is. This has been my discipline. As a result, I have left unread a lot of things I ought to have read, and I have read many things I ought not to have read." - Joseph Campbell
Ernest Becker is a good start (read The Denial Of Death), Barry Sanders (the author/professor, not the football dude), Miles Davis, Prince, Jenny Holzer, Sinead O'Connor... So many more, fun to think about...
