My name is Ryan Nolan, I'm 18 years old and I live in Lapeer Michigan on somewhat of a large farm. I was diagnosed with Lieukiemia which is a form of blood cancer when I was 13 on August 15, 2003. I was in what is known as remission which means we killed all the cancer cells but a while later a test showed that all the cancer had returned. The only way to completly destroy the cancer cells was for me to under-go a Bone Marrow Transplant which I did in May of 2005. I was in the hospital for over 100 days which took up my entire summer. After many issues that hospitalized me and one hell of a long journey I seem to be almost 100 percent now except for one disease I happen to have which most people get after an extensive transplant like the one I had. All while I was taking care of those issues I was attending Lapeer East High School which I was in and out of for most of my high school career. I was infact able to graduate, attend commencement with my class mates and have a huge open house for myself. As of right now I'm just relaxing and taking a very well needed year off before I actually begin my first year of college. I would like to attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and I haven't pin pointed which major I'm going choose but I'm thinking of something along the lines of engineering like an architect or something in the criminology field.
