After graduating high school in a class of 33 students, James moved from Mayer, Arizona to Los Angeles in 1994 to attend Occidental College. He graduated with distinction in 1998 with a degree in Theater and a minor in Film Production. During his stay at Oxy, James also became an accomplished athlete winning the NCAA DIV III SCIAC Championship as a pole-vaulter. Early in his career, James worked in different areas of film production under such titles as; set carpenter, lighting technician, first assistant director, and even photo double to Kurt Russell! He feels that this diversity of experience has helped to make him a well-rounded actor with an awareness of techniques both in front of and behind the camera. Mr. Pomichter got his first big break playing "Spiderman" in a VISA Checkcard commercial. Not three weeks after it first aired during the 2005 superbowl, James landed a starring role in the Sci-Fi Pictures original film, "SS Doomtrooper". He starred opposite Corin Nemec and Ben Cross as "Private Parker Lewis", a smart-ass fast talking soldier from Brooklyn, James also made a notable appearance on MyNetwork TV's, "Wicked Wicked Games" He played the role of a "Tough Guy" who gets slapped across the face by Academy Award Winner, Tatum O ' Neal. Continuing his success, he then landed the role of, "Eric", a reporter in the Indie Feature, "A Simple Promise", which secured worldwide DVD distribution in the winter of 2007 after screening at the LA Femme Film Festival in Los Angeles. In the hit film, "13 Going On 30", James inspires big laughs when Jennifer Garner bombards his character with shrimp and pineapple chunks at a New York party. Passionate for the independent film industry, James has also starred in a number of smaller productions. "Retribution", notably, in which James played the bewildered son of a once abusive father, won the "Best of Festival" award at the Renowood Film Festival in Reno, Nevada. Mr. Pomichter is currently working on the feature comedy, "Pawn Shop", filming in 2009. He is set to play opposite Paul Rodrigez and Loretta Devine, amoung others. James also has two of his own independent feature film projects in development. The first is a compelling drama about the sexual politics and intimacies between a diverse number of guest at a weekend resort, and the complications that arise when alcohol is added to the mix. The other; a dark comedy about a mentally challenge 30 year old man who goes on a wild adventure across America in search of his long lost father. One of James's favorite roles was that of an eccentric young man, Andy, in the Mac Wellman play, "A Murder of Crows". James stood frozen on stage, painted gold, for most of the show, until near the end he came to life to give a compelling final goodbye speech. Two very nice elderly women in the front row nearly leaped out of their seats when they realized that the shapely half-naked statue of a man was real!
