COLABERAYSHEN ignites and delights audiences with a mix of vibrant, standard and contemporary jazz sounds. Pianist/vocalist/composer Azzaam Hameed, lead guitarist/vocalist/composer; Ron Mayfield; and Carl West, bassist; accompany Sharons vocals.
The band is a constellation of seasoned composers and arrangers acclaimed for their original compositions and successful CD release of UNANIMITY. (see CDbaby.com for more music) Band members also perform as solo artists and in various jazz and R&B and gospel configurations.
'Azzaam Hameed's musical roots were derived from gospel, however, he has received formal training which included classical musical instruction and music theory. 'Azzaam's musical style on the piano incorporates a tasteful blend with colorful accents of Latin and Brazilian overtones.
Ron Mayfield's been performing and teaching unique music styles for over twenty years. Ron began his musical journey as a child in gospel music, as an adult he studied notable artists and developed a unique collage of guitar stylings.
Carl West is best known for his unique bass cords and song arrangements. Beginning with percussion as a child, Carl received his first bongo at the age of five years old, he then self taught himself to play guitar. At age nine Carl not only played bass but paino as well.
Sha'ron's musical legacy extends back several generations and began in gospel. After her first professional release on Kaleidiascope Records in 1992, Sha'ron became a charted/lyricist, vocal artist.
COLABERAYSHEN entrances listeners with suave, resonant Jazz/R&B styling and warm vocal sounds. Theirs is a style that continues to create a clamor for more of its versatility, charisma and unique quality hard to find anywhere else so readily accessible.
