As a Writer:
The author and editor of over nine volumes of poetry and prose Scott Woods has performed all over the country. His work has been used at numerous universities and schools, and he has been featured multiple times on National Public Radio. Was featured in Paste, Columbus Monthly and World Literature Review magazines.
He has published articles, reviews and other prose work in a variety of publications in print and multi-media platforms. He has been on almost every slam team to come out of Columbus, Ohio. He writes a monthly column entitled "Poetry Is Doomed" for GotPoetry.com.
He is currently President of Poetry Slam, Inc. which oversees the National Poetry Slam, the Individual World Poetry Slam, and the Women of the World Poetry Slam; MCs a weekly open mic series - The Writers' Block - in Columbus, Ohio; and is the founder of the Greatest Slow Jam Ever website.
In April 2006 Scott made history by performing the first-ever 24-hour poetry feature. He bested this feat by doing another 24 hours in 2007, but without repeating a single poem. He bested that feat by doing it again - with no repeats in 2008 and 2009.
As a Musican:
Scott has released over 10 albums under various pseudonyms, the most popular being "breath". His range covers electronica music (mostly downtempo) and spoken word. He records for the Black Air Press Music label. Scott also DJs under the name "Scott's Groove locker", which is occassionaly an interactive DJ set with live musicians or multiple DJs.
