Trigger

About Me

The Casablanca LP of Trigger gives ample evidence that this group's reputation for styling and entertaining rock & roll is no musical misfire.
Trigger's highly personal music has evolved into what the group describes as "anthem rock" - tight, polished, explosive and forceful music that can draw fevered, loyal responses from audiences at a moment's notice.
Trigger's sound is a blitzkrieg-styled attack - hard and fast with no let-up in the impact. Their collective stage presence is centered around the strident, aggressive lead vocals of drummer (yes, drummer) Derek Remington with support from the twin guitars of Jimmy Duggan and Richie House and bassist Tom Nigra. What sets Trigger apart from the heavy-metal norm is the group's emphasis on vocals and harmonies. All four members are versatile and gifted vocalists, setting up varied voice textures by their ability to swap harmonies or exchange lead rolls as the situation demands.
Production and engineering were expertly co-handled by Corky Stasiak and Dennis Ferrante, a team that was also involved in the production of such artists as Kiss, Aerosmith, John Lennon and Linda Ronstadt, to name just a few. Their wealth of experience and close relationship with the group have resulted in a versatile, yet seamless piece.
The material shifts smoothly from such melodic fare as "Somebody Like You" to the funked-up "Gimme Your Love", while a sinister and chilling "Deadly Weapon" provides a perfect counterpoint to the lush vocal arrangements of "Baby Don't Cry" or the frantic guitar and pop flavor of "We're Gonna' Make It". A diverse base of styles, but Trigger makes the transition from each mode with ease.
