About Me

E.K. Wimmer is a singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist currently living in Denver, CO. Veduta, his solo electronic/goth project, released two L.P.s (Audio Perception 2001, Do You Remember (What I Forgot To Tell You) 2002), three E.P.s through Flexible Records (Sad Music For Happy People 2005, The Elevator 2006, We Are One 2007) and was included on six compilations. He also recorded 3 L.P.s (Greatest Hits? 2003, The Midi West 2005, In the Elephant Garden 2007) as the drummer/bassist on the indie/twee band Two Year Touqe.
In 2008 E.K. Wimmer ended Veduta and released the full length album What was once Veduta is now found under his own name. What was once Veduta is now found is a selection of tracks recorded between 2005-2008.
In addition to his solo work, Wimmer co-created the post-punk/glam side project Maps & Mapping with his wife Maria Rose. Maps & Mapping have released two singles (Time 2008, Radiation Love 2008). He’s also scored six short films, directed seven music videos and is a noted photographer/painter.
Currently E.K. Wimmer is working on his second solo album, a debut record with Maps & Mapping and a million other random projects.
"J'adore ton style." - Audrey Tautou
"I can understand what all the excitement is all about." - Gwyneth Haynes of Sophe Lux
"Based on the material here and his work in the past, I have great expectations..." - A Future in Noise
"His music echoes rhythmical bass tones blended to wholesome acoustic melodies finished with a series of well written, pleasant lyrics." - We Are Danger Daughters
"...a multi-instrumentalist (and general renaissance man)..." - Post-punk.com
"The layering of sound is combined beautifully with Wimmer's bittersweet vocals... An album for introspection, a soundtrack to your morning drive...or future film! Highly recommended." - A Future in Noise
"The DIY art juggernaut E.K. Wimmer released What Was Once Veduta is Now Found back in the fall. ...a better-late-than-never move worthy of a medal." - Rocky Mountain Music Blog
"...blending soft synthesizers and subtle harmonies with warm acoustic guitars, post-punk bass, and the occasional pulsing drum machine rhythm... this particular aesthetic choice gives Wimmer’s vocals a chance to stand out and display more heart than your average synthpop track, while equally adding a more relaxing and ambient feel to an otherwise abrasive-by-nature genre." - Post-punk.com
"Gentle and harsh; raw and slick; distant and cloying - E.K. Wimmer's songs manage to occupy both sides of the same coin." - A New Band a Day
"An interesting inauguration to what will almost certainly be a continued exhibition." - My Crazy Music Blog
"Touching on basic human nature and loneliness, the songs are presented in a way to touch on the sadness of the lyrics but for some reason, the whole thing just leaves me elated." - Bradley's Buzz
