THE GREAT COACH HASKINS teaching Kimani Jones-Young some UTEP BASKETBALLNOLAN RICHARDSON (El Paso's Favorite Son) Helped Coach Haskins get settled in El Paso in 1961, Bowie High graduate, Won the N.I.T. at the University of Tulsa, and a NCAA championship at the University of Arkansas.TIM FLOYD (UTEP'S BEST RECRUITER EVER) He coached at Iowa State University, The Chicago Bulls, The New Orleans Hornets, and now at the University of Southern California...Maybey he'll come back and Retire here where he belongsAfter Coach Haskins we were in trouble until Coach Billy Gillespie saved the season twice....I'll never forget when he rushed to the floor after Tofi got knocked out...We were 6-24 that year, but it was one of my favorite years, SO MUCH HEART. Thanks Billy   Coach Sadler led the Miner's to back to back post season tournament appearances in his first 2 seasons as Coach of the Miners (NCAA against UTAH and NIT against Lipscomb and Michigan). This former Top-assistant coach of Billy Gillespie racked up as many victories as Coach Haskins did in his first season.   Coach Tony Barbee is brand new and all I know is that he is suave , calm, cool, and collected...He was waiting for his chance and I'm hoping he can follow in the footsteps of the great coaches (For the exception of Rabedeaux) here at UTEP. He was voted one of the Top assistant coaches in the country and he has recently helped the Memphis Tigers become a force in college basketball with OUTSTANDING RECRUITING CLASSES....And we all know RECRUITING is what saves a coaches job. Go get them coach Barbee.   COACH BARBEE's STAFF: MIKE BABUL (Mr. UMASS)Milt WagnerTony MadlockRandall DickeyNathaniel Root (someone get him a UTEP jersey)
