Facts:
$ From Staten Island, NY: Home of the Wu-Tang Clan.
$ We've been playing together since 2004, and have been friends since Kindergarten.
$ We don't have an image, we don't have an ego. We're not hip.
$ We have an extremely strong friendship with many of the local bands in our area, but there are some bands we blatantly and unapologetically make fun of.
$ On that note, Curious Volume does not write in the 3rd person to make it appear that they have people to run their Myspace for them.
$ We are not part of any specific genre per se, but generally are accepted in the ska, punk, and rock and roll "scenes".
$ Our lyrics tend to not be about stupid things like "how to skank" or "that's not real punk rock", nor do they ever discuss any genres of music. It's been done, and it's BOOORING.
$ Coming to one of our shows is a way to have a really good time.
$ We have crappy T-Shirts if you want one. They're adorable.
$ We are extremely low-budget. Our parents don't put out money for us to take fancy press shots and buy fake Myspace tools and go to incredible studios. The only way we were able to record the Yellow Dog EP was because we won the 2006 Staten Island's Greatest Band Competition. Our current album is being recorded in dNo's basement.
$We will play ANYWHERE. Block parties, sweet 16's, backyards, basements, private parties, literally anywhere that will have us. We love playing and have a great time doing it so any chance we get we will take.
$ We sound like all your favorite bands and we're better-looking than the Beatles, so you'll like us! Don't worry.
