About Me

Aracely (rhymes with "are you silly") started singing and writing lyrics in 1991 shortly after coming to the Lord. She sang her first complete song to a friend while tapping out a rhythm on her lap. Needing an instrument to write and sing with, she traded her old trumpet for an acoustic guitar at a pawn shop in Garland, Texas and learned a few chords from her friend. In 1992 Aracely joined Jesus People USA in Chicago and started playing with the worship team right away. She became involved in forming the band Seeds in 1995 after enlisting the help of some fellow JPUSA musicians to play with her at a local coffeehouse. In 2001, after two albums with Seeds, she stepped away from music for a while to spend more time with her husband and four kids. During her break she found balance, spiritual healing and her true self.In 2004 she released her solo debut, In The Sandbox. Recorded with Bill Russell in his project studio, they created something intimate that takes a glimpse into a soul’s yearning for our Creator, with a gentle reminder to take time to “play in the sandbox” with Him as well.Aracely started performing with Bill in 2004 and added James Council on drums and Kris Denlinger on bass later that year. Since adding additional musicians, her sound has progressed from acoustic folk to a mixture of jazz, country, and 80’s alternative rock.In 2005 she was added to the Grrr Records roster where she has been able to continue to develop her sound and ministry.

Embarassed
