TRAVELOGUE EP REVIEW.
Here’s one off the underground radar. UK-based Scandinavian beatsmith/DJ Chris Fader, serves up an EP full of laid back and ethereal soundscapes. From the melancholic but moving ‘Cask of Amontillado’ to a low sung and dusty Portishead-esqe remix of another Norwegian unknown: the Eyewaterlillies to the chilled out Brazilian grooves of ‘Bapaba’ to the driving break, swirling strings and humongous bass of ‘Flying Circus’ the Travel Logue EP is more then an ‘interesting’ debut. Best appreciated in the wee hours the EP will quickly satisfy the craverss of downtempo and become the staple of many a smoking session. It also comes with some of the sickest artwork I’ve ever seen on a DIY release, check it. If this sounds like your thing peruse the mans myspace and order direct.(Michael Krasser)
