"Tehillah exists to destroy the works of the devil in individuals, in cities and in nations (1 John 3:8-9). As we draw closer to God we continue to tear down strongholds and rip up foundations that the enemy has put up in our lives, our cities and our nations." Photos from the Tehillah Costume Party!
.. Tehillah Ministries was started at Genesis Church by Sr. Pastor David and Maureen Woodcock. The original vision for Tehillah was to provide an atmosphere of worship in the context of the Word, combined with life-changing times of prayer. Over the years, Tehillah has remained true to these three foundations. Worship, Word and prayer are core to our values and are plainly evident in our meetings.Tehillah is a ministry that has no paid staff members and continues to flourish because of the gracious support of Genesis Church and the abundant grace and mercy of Father God. Every year brings growth and maturity to this young college ministry. This past year, Pastor Bobby spent much of his time developing a strong leadership team. The Tehillah leadership team is:Sturbs (Stephanie Stephens)
Stephanie Kinsey
Nickie Ellingwood
Joel Woodcock
Alyssa Mart
Nadine Sanders
Abby Henry Tehillah broke new ground this year in several areas. First of all, Stephanie, Joel, and Abby have all stepped up and have committed themselves to excellence in the area of leading worship. They rotate leading week to week and each lend a particular strength to creating an atmosphere of true and authentic worship. These worship leaders are restoring the standard of worship Tehillah was birthed in while displaying the magnificent splendor of Father God.Secondly, Tehillah has developed an intimate communion gathering that happens once a month. The entire event models a personal fellowship with Father God that is expected to be continued outside the four walls of the church. Tehillah Communion opens with communion emblems and then moves into a time of soaking and personal intimacy with God. At times, some will sketch, others will write, still others will spend time reflecting or see visions. God shows up with His agenda for the evening and we follow His lead. These have been among some of our most life-changing moments this past year.Tehillah Purpose was the result of a vision God gave Sturbs. Much of our generation spends their time wandering aimlessly; this is a gathering with purpose and on purpose. Tehillah Purpose is a 12 hour fast capped off with a night of prayer and worship. The theme of Tehillah Purpose has been to serve the purpose of God through prayer in order to rebuild the ancient ruins and former desolations of many generations (Acts 13:36, Ezekiel 22:30, Isaiah 61:4, Isaiah 58:12). Tehillah Purpose takes place at least once a quarter and has specific themes each quarter. The night begins with worship and impartation from elders. It then moves into times of corporate and individual prayer.A new ministry, Divine Appointments, was conceived at a Tehillah Purpose. Divine Appointments are when men and women yield their personal planners to God and let Him set up their appointments. It has become the evangelistic arm of Tehillah with the primary purpose of allowing people outside the church to encounter God in their everyday lives. The success of a Divine Appointment is measured in conversations and not conversions. This ministry is continually being developed and refined by Abby and Alyssa.Nadine diligently keeps the Tehillah MySpace page (www.myspace.com/tehillahiu) updated with fresh content including but not limited to the latest pictures, announcements, and prophetic words from Tehillah. Her tireless efforts keep website visitors updated on the latest and greatest. Nickie has spent considerable time developing her prophetic gifting. She brings strong stability and authority to the spoken prophetic word in Tehillah. Alyssa has been creative and resourceful in developing her gift of evangelism in the area of visitors. She designed the welcome gifts that visitors to both Tehillah and Genesis Church received this past year. Alyssa spends time through the week following up with visitors over the phone or perhaps getting together over a cup of coffee. In 2007, Tehillah is following the lead of Sr. Pastors David and Maureen Woodcock by taking steps to put together a campus-wide worship and prayer gathering. The monthly gathering has been dubbed “Purpose: United†and takes place in the Whittenberger Auditorium in the IU Student Union the last Monday of the month. The theme of the event is taken from Jesus’ prayer in John 17 to be united so that the world may believe in Him. The gathering is designed to be nameless and faceless; the only identity that we claim is Jesus. Our goal is to have ALL Jesus-centered ministries participating by the end of 2007. Tehillah is very thankful for the support of Genesis Church. We would like to thank Pastors Tim and Jen Woodcock for their behind the scenes prayer and support. Thanks to Pastor Dotty for taking time to impart into us. And finally, we honor Pastors David and Maureen Woodcock and the elders for believing in us and encouraging us to advance the Kingdom of God. We continue to exist because of your continued faith in our generation.
