"I am not so arrogant as to presume that only my intellectual superiors can teach me. If such were the case then the teacher would learn nothing from her disciples, the parents nothing from their children, and I nothing from the animals, from whom I've learned so much"
~Duke, circa 07

Many of us have conflicting opinions about whether or not testing pharmeceuticals on animals poses an ethical dilemma, but I have yet to hear a good argument for the justification of testing products such as Windex and air freshner on animals. KFC EXPOSED
My decision to transition to a vegetarian diet has evoked cynicism from some of you. I find it disturbing that while many defend their right to eat meat, a right to which I too believe we are entitled, few are educated about the torture and inhumanity that are practiced on a large scale in order for us to obtain that meat. I have little respect for arguments rooted in ignorance. If after watching this footage you maintain your position that we, as a carnivorous species, are entitled to meat - even if it is obtained via the practices shown - then we can have a discussion. If you feel that the below footage is too disturbing to watch, and yet you continue to support the industry responsible for this footage, then I have no choice but to consider your position hypocritical. We owe it to the animals who sacrifice not only their lives, but the peace to which all living beings are entitled, to watch this:

PETA Teams Up With Project Runway, MTV Designers to Educate Fashion Students About Fur
Just as design guru Tim Gunn is widely praised for bringing fashion to the mainstream through the hit TV show Project Runway, he's also getting kudos from PETA for bringing awareness about animal issues to students at Parsons The New School for Design, where he is the dean of the fashion school.
In a groundbreaking program that's now going into its third year, PETA is reaching more up-and-coming designers than ever before with our humane message by giving Parsons students the facts about fur, leather, and wool production.
This fall, PETA will give a presentation to the entire fashion school, which will include video footage showing how minks and foxes are trapped, drowned, or electrocuted for their fur and how cows and sheep live and die in factory farms for the leather and wool trades.
Gunn told fashion industry newspaper Women's Wear Daily, "I felt it was important to give students both sides of the story and let them be aware of both sides of ,the issue."
Tommy Hillfiger Sheds Fur
Following months of discussions with PETA, Tommy Hilfiger joins Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole, and others in banning fur from his collections. "Starting immediately, the company will cease development of any product containing fur, and any fur garment already in production will be phased out of sales channels by the delivery of the spring 2008 collection," Tommy Hilfiger Corp. announced in a statement. Fred Gehring, CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Corp., told fashion trade publication Women's Wear Daily that to "guarantee our products live up to the integrity we promise our customers, we have decided to switch to a faux fur policy entirely."
Prada: I'm Bored with Fur
Not even 24 hours after a PETA Europe member disrupted the Prada fashion show at Milan Fashion Week, and less than a month since PETA reps showed this video to Prada execs in Milan, the mood has swung 180 degrees and founder Miuccia Prada received a bouquet of roses from PETA Europe this morning. The sudden about-face happened because, for the first time in decades—yes, I mean literally decades—there wasn’t a single fur item in Prada’s fall/winter collection. And check this: Miuccia Prada herself said that she is “bored†with real fur. It seems that Prada has finally realized what we’ve been saying for years, that designing with fur is unimaginative as hell, not to mention cruel.Prada’s new line is called “Fake Classicâ€â€”I love it.
