Bugsy' draws his audience in with an extreme passion that truly captivates them and his record collection and jaw-dropping techniques on the turntables amazed a lot of people out there. He has built a solid reputation and is steadily becoming one of Belgium’s leading house DJs. Over the years he has played at all the major clubs and parties alongside many international Djs including Joe Claussell, Charles Webster, Milles Maeda, Diz, Ian Pooley, Greenskeepers, Justin Long, East Coast Boogiemen, Bryan Jones, Joey Youngman, The Littlemen,....
He has a love for combining soul, funk, disco and house music. It was a progressive evolution over 10 years that began with the mid 90s hip hop sound, followed by the techno and house sound in the late 90s. Being exposed to great event productions and even greater music talents made his passion and respect for different kinds of music grow.
During his studies at college he got in touch with Jensen and their mutual passion for music made these two house cats inseparable behind the turntables. After playing in several clubs in Ghent they've become monthly residents at Decadance in 2004, where they've been rocking the house during two years.
In the meanwhile they've started organising the home party's 'What's Cookin?', together with Jan (Jack Herrer). The success and growing popularity of their now acclaimed 'legendary' home parties allowed them to move to bigger and even more exclusive locations ranging from an old castle to a big warehouse. Later they succeeded in signing a partnership with one of Ghent’s finest venues: Vooruit. 'Whats' Cookin?' brings a wide diversity in house music and translates this in booking established names as well as new talents in different sub genres. Guests at 'What's Cookin?' include Joe Clausell(NY), Kink (Bu), Diz(US), 1200 Warriors(US), Big Hair(UK), Bryan Jones (US) and Inland Knights(UK).
In 2008, he and friends, Remy (Kb Swing – Guess Who) and Tone, announced the 'Boom Boom Room' as their monthly spot to introduce proper house music to the people in Aalst. Around that time, he became neighbours with Guy Vercruyssen (Dj Cute?), who produced several deep house tracks under his pseudonym 'Furniture is Music.' He was also responsible for organising 'House Editions' in Kortrijk from 2003 till 2006 .Their friendship lead to a new concept in Ghent, 'We ain't from Chicago', which brings the more funky side of house music by booking international guests like The Sounddiggers(UK), Late Night Society (US) and Slater Hogan (US).
If there's ever some time left, Bugsy tries to sneak in at his friends home studios where they explore the rhythmic and melodic complexities while keeping the warmth and soul intact. Different tracks and remixes were released on labels including Kinjo, Footwear, Patsada Records, Moodclub Music, Union Recordings and Digifunk and got played by artists like Phil weeks, Derrick Carter, The Sound Republic, The Rurals, 1200 Warriors, ...
