Another Rap group? Nah, not just another rap group. C.A.S.T.L.E. Boyz - C.B'z for short, could imply that this lyrically talented group reigns at the top of the Hip Hop hierarchy, making them Kings of their C.A.S.T.L.E. Or, it could stand for exactly what you see-Country, Ass, Slick, Talkin’, Living, Easy Boyz. However, they are much more than an acronym, for that matter they are much more than a rap group. This is a way of life for these three homegrown, Atlanta-based artists.
The group consists of three master lyricists, Skoop, PoBode, and J.K. who is
tearing up the underground scene with their latest mix tape series,
“Hood Bussin’ â€. Their mix tapes have created a buzz; gaining notoriety
not only for themselves but, for giving shine to other upcoming artists who
some were later offered record deals. To that end, The C.B’z are definitely
not the usual hyper ego (out for self) artists that are readily found in the
music industry. The C.B’z are all about networking and building with the
best of the best in their city of Atlanta. PoBode -“Every time I here some
new shit coming out my city, I want that shit to be fi, if it ain’t then um
pissed.â€
As young fans of Hip Hop, the members of The C.B’z can recall watching
their favorite rappers on television. Today, they are traveling across the
country, opening shows for and performing along side artist such as
“David Bannerâ€, “Bone Crusherâ€, “Shop Boysâ€, “Boyz In The Hoodâ€, “D4Lâ€
and “Killer Mikeâ€-just to name a few. The C.B’z have unquestionably made
great strides and they have no intentions of retiring their microphones
anytime soon. What The C.B’z describe as, Slick City A-Town Music, can be summed up to
a few uncomplicated words-real life, thought-provoking, gutt’a, Hip-Hop
music that people around the world can relate to. Even with many
successes underway, the C.B’z still exemplify humility. The next time
you see them performing their hit single, “What They Talkin’ Boutâ€, don’t
be surprised to see Skoop, PoBode, or J.K. jump off stage to interact with
their fans. That’s just how they get down. They are true to Hip-Hop. Now,
some say that Hip-Hop is dead, if this is the case, then the flaming hot lyrics
of the C.A.S.T.L.E. Boyz are here to breathe life back into it.
