Born and Raised In New York, he grew up during the peak years of the 1980s' crack epidemic, and the rise of Hip Hop. Many of the youth of the 1980¢s strive to leave the ghetto, never looking back, never discussing the plight of our urban ghettos. Through music, young Focuz aims to enlighten the masses, delivering stories we all know all to well.
Focuz began his career on a suggestion to turn his written word poetry into rap songs. Blending his powerful metaphors with unrivaled beats, his urban linguistic styling was born. A traditional MC breathes through Focuz, giving the listening audience a refreshing new face of Hip Hop, without all the commercial gibberish, misogyny, and boasting about drugs, jewelry, and fast cars. Although many call him a conscious rapper, he doesn't see himself that way. Brought up in the same ghettos and poverty stricken neighborhoods, his articulate and socially consciousness balances his commercial and somewhat overtly sexual lyrics. Many underground rappers have given Focuz his respect, seeing the burning desire in his eyes and hearing the truth flow out his mouth. Undeniably Focuz is the future of hip-hop, the new face of music.
