Well, I quit my career in technology management in 2001, which makes me quasi-retired (unless, like me, you count drinking as a profession). I spent a year or so traveling just to remember what living felt like (working 80+ hours a week makes it easy to forget).
I lived in Nova Scotia for the last two or so years, ostensibly studying international relations (ain't euphemisms great) & political science (Look ma! I gots me some book lurnin so I aint gonna be ignant no more). At my college, I was on the debate team, the rugby team (perfect season 10 wins - 0 losses & Regional Champs) and I wrote a highly offensive politically focused column for the uni paper.
Now I'm back in Seattle, enjoying time with my family (parents, siblings, nieces and nephews as opposed to wife and/or kids - as I have neither) and friends and just generally enjoying life.
I'm not really all that good at the whole myspace thing, I think I suffer from a dramatic lack of giving a damn, either that or I'm simply the worlds most charming misanthrope.
I don't add people unless I see a commonality of interests, they amuse me, or they are hot chicks that seem remotely intelligent and not vapid and annoying (what can I say I'm just shallow like that).
I'm a total slacker about thanking people for adds, in fact I do not think I've even gotten around to thanking Tom.
Of course he isn't speaking to me because I deleted him from my friends and as he was pretty drunk and ranting all sorts of nonsense when he called me at 3am to ask me why I deleted him, I'm not entirely sure where things are at.
Oh the drama!
