I Pangea nascono nel 2006 come duo acustico con Riccardo Brancolini al basso e Dario Martorana alla voce e chitarra. In breve tempo si unisce a loro il batterista-percussionista Marouane Massat. In perfetto equilibrio tra armonia e dissonanza, i Pangea riescono a dar vita ad un suono distaccato e allo stesso tempo coinvolgente, amaro e dolce. Sicuramente estraneo ad ogni tipo massificazione musicale, il “progetto Pangea” si presenta in costante crescita. La naturale complementarietà fra le idee e gli stili musicali dei tre componenti ha permesso alla band di creare generiche musicali, basi per i successivi due anni di sperimentazione dal vivo. Lo scorso anno, infatti, numerose performance hanno permesso di raffinare e incrementare il bagaglio musicale precedente. Gli stimoli offerti dalle emozioni e dagli spontanei arrangiamenti ,dei vari componenti, nelle esibizioni di nicchia spingono poi il gruppo a prediligere la dimensione live per creare nuove soluzioni melodiche. Nel corso di quest’anno il concerto diventa il “momento fondamentale” per l’espressione dei pangea,che adottano quindi nuovi strumenti di comunicazione. Entra quindi a far parte del gruppo la ballerina Laura Martorana, anche creatrice dei video proiettati che accompagnano il concerto.Con sonorità Jazz, Blues, Rock; funk, indie, folk….. i Pangea si esprimono.
.."Pangea" was founded as an acoustic band in 2006 thanks to the bassist Riccardo Brancolini and to the singer and guitarist Dario Martorana. In a short time also the drummer Marouane Massat joined them. In perfect balance between harmony and dissonance, pangea succeeds in giving birth to an atypical sound and at the same time in being involving, bitter and sweet, detaching from any type of music standardization. The "pangea project" can be described as in continuous growth.The natural complementariness between the ideas and the music styles of the three members allowed the band to create a mixed music, which was the basis for the following two years of live experimentations. Last year several live shows, for example, gave the band the chance of refining and broaden the musicians’ previous stock of music knowledge.
