Formed early 2007 by Byron 2112 Dollas(guitars),Aris Vinter Spathas(bass guitar),Alex PsychoVonL Anagnostopoulos(keyboards) and George Hatzopoulos(drums).They worked as an instrumental quartet on their material until vocalist Janick Tragakis joined the band.Band's first name was Descendants(under that name they recorded as a quartet a demo track called "Crimson Tide/Blue Sea"),then after's Tragakis' appearance the name changed into Descendants Of Dharma(the band's first track's title),until it changed into Misty Valley(as a tribute to the Sweden's finest hard rock band Spiritual Beggars)just before their first live show(Penteli,November 2007).January 2008:Misty Valley record their first 4-track demo(entitled"Demo 2008"or just "Misty Valley")featuring the songs"Porn Star","Bring Back The Sun",''Backseat Education" and "The Female".After a handful of live shows the band records its first EP called "Through The Mist"(July 2008)produced by Jimmy Summer(guitarist of Hannibal,Raging Storm)and Antonis Vouzounaras(bass player for Alchimistes)at Studio 222(Kallithea,Athens)."Through The Mist" features "Porn Star","Bring Back The Sun","Do I Know Me","She's Smiling Through The Mist","Descendants Of Dharma" and "The Walker".Since then we are looking forward to more and more shows,and maybe summer 2009 we will do our final recordings for "Through The Mist" and seek for a label to release it.
Misty Valley's sound is an aftermath of the band's member's different music tastes on hard rock and metal music(for example Byron loves '70s rock and progressive,Alex is more into symphonic and female fronted Metal,Aris listens mostly to epic,black and glam metal,George is a die hard fan of Metallica,Janick is a doomster/stoner rocker and NWOBHM lover...).But we can say that Misty Valley is at least a rock n roll band.And the most important thing about us:The best way to judge us is watching us performing live.During its live shows the band brings out a different energy,which is difficult to be captured in a recording studio.Please try to catch us live...MISTY VALLEY HIGH VOLTAGE ROCK N ROLL FOR YA!!
