What about me? Well, I'm older than I feel, older than I act, and I hope I look younger than I am! I'm not sure what else to say with so much space to talk about myself... I've been trying to come up with some quirky and fun, or dark and mysterious "about me" piece that would make everyone instantly like me or think I was cool... but everything's coming out long and boring. *sigh*
So for now we go with the straightforward, long and boring bio: Born and raised in the Pittsburgh, PA, area. Went to the University of Pittsburgh for a writing degree with a minor in Italian and dreams of becoming a foreign correspondent. Got married after college, worked as a technical writer for a bank. Traveled quite a lot: UK, Europe, Egypt. Quit the boring bank job, became a freelance writer and editor with some success. Finally decided to have a baby 11 years into our marriage.
.. Moved to the DC area in '93, and life changed substantially. Knew no one, had to completely reinvent myself. That came via getting into the internet and then through our first trip to Walt Disney World in '94. Five minutes into my first visit to the Magic Kingdom I knew I never wanted to leave. I've returned nearly 50 times in the ensuing years, despite the raised eyebrows and questioning looks from non-believing family and friends.
Hooked up online with a wonderful woman named Deb Wills who had an unofficial website about Walt Disney World -- since '97 I have worked hard with her to share our passion for Walt Disney World with others through www.AllEars.net and its companion newsletter ALL EARS.
In 2005, we wrote and published a book for travelers to Walt Disney World who face special challenges: PassPorter's Walt Disney World for Your Special Needs. We've just recently revised the book, and retitled it: PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line. It's out NOW at PassPorter.com, Amazon.com, and other bookstores. We hope it makes taking a vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth easier for everybody!
