Strange Noise Sound System

About Me

The Strange Noise Sound System believe that the soul in electronic music lies in imrovisation. Taking a leaf from the beat poets of the 60's we believe that for music to be real it must come from the unconcious and be executed and delivered '..in the moment'.

"Strange Noise Sound system are renowned for kickin' live sets that are totally improvised"

Consequential to their beliefs, Strange Noise Sound System commit to complete improvisation within their live sets where they start with nothing but a bunch of sound patches and original short visual clips to create funky audio and visual sequences on the spot in realtime via keyed entry or MIDI recording.

The Strange Noise Project began in August 2004 when Ale K. Adams asked Brainmachine to fill in beats for him as he wrenched wild experimental sonics out of his heavily effected guitar at a Citylights Art opening with Dave Campell doing psychedelic Visuals.

On the strength of their first gig they have appeared at Australias premier electronic music festival Rainbow Serpent as well as recieving label interest whilst playing many underground experimental shows.

Now we've been getting a fair bit of gig spam in our comments which has been okay as it has been reasonably appropriate but due to our general moral indignation regarding spamming, we've decided to let comments be individually approved.

We are happy to support gig and album notifications within our comments so long as it is appropriate and done in a nice way. Now its not really nice for people who have never communicated with us before to blindly chuck up spam and expect us not to mind but if you send us a message introducing yourself and the type of stuff you are doing and why honestly we aught to support what you're doing on our myspace we will gladly help you out! - besides who knows maybe we might become fans of yours and come to all of your shows???

notable gigs include:

Rainbow Serpent Festival 2006 - Returning yet again

Next Wave Arts Festival 2006 - Australian Underground Arts Festival

Earthdance Festival 2005 mainstage - The largest earthdance in the southern hemisphere

Rainbow Serpent Festival 2005 - International trance festival

alongside various underground parties and art events throughout Melbourne
