About Me

Running From Voodoo is an Orlando based rock band that has crept out of the shadows and will haunt your dreams. The group, performing a unique rock sound with an original twist of hip-hop, goth, electronic and even latin and middle eastern tones, won artist of the month at ReviewOrlando the first month of being out of the studio. Front-man Rob Belanger (also the band's producer) grew up in a small town in Maine and sang and played guitar and keys for numerous bands in Boston and Orlando. He has also worked in the studio with artists such as Days of the New and Silmarils, and produced a Reggaeton album with Nismo which will be released nationally this month. With a music background of Berklee, Full Sail, and running Pandora Sound Studios, Rob searched central florida for the perfect members to complete RFV. Nora Ricci was found performing guitar, keys, and singing solo gigs in Orlando. Nora has a way of captivating any listener with her warm bluesy vocals and humble, yet confident persona, bringing chills down your neck and keeping you hanging by every breath. She was an ideal choice as another front-person for RFV, not only as a performer, but as a songwriter. Nora has been playing the piano since age 4, percussion since age 10, guitar for about 8 years and studied with Rstrapovich and the National Symphony Orchestra. Mike Hill, the bands lead guitarist was actually found working on the computers at Pandora Sound Studios while working for his company MCS Florida. At the time Rob had no knowedge of his guitar ability, but later Mike joined and played bass for Lost in Decision, another band that frequented Pandora. While hanging out at the studio he played on the guitar almost any song you could possibly name. Mike is one of- or quite possibly, the best guitar players you will find in the Orlando music scene with his proficiency in many styles of music, tight rhythms, and melodic leads. Mike has also toured with West Palm Beach, Florida recording artists Inhouse, opening up for Duncan Sheik, Black Label Society, K's Choice, Pat Benatar, and Widespread Panic. DJ Irene Pardo's reputation as a club dj, promotions coordinator and active partygoer drifted in the wind to rob's ears and he found her on myspace. Together they began remixing the track Vampire and forged a strong working relationship. DJ Irene Pardo, who spent years, break dancing, doing stunts, and spinning beats, adds flavor to the group with her smooth mixes, scratches, promotion and production skills. She's also one of the hottest DJs to hit the clubs. Running From Voodoo is a new monster just unleashed, with four fighters, one in each corner of ring. Like the elements each have their own strengths but together they make one complete entity. ..........No one does the black magic that they do, and you can't run from their voodoo.
